Southwest Jiaotong University developed a new type of composite antibacterial packaging material

College of Materials Science and Engineering of Southwest Jiaotong University successfully developed ZnO crystalline composite antibacterial agents and applied them to plastic packaging materials to develop antibacterial bags with an antibacterial rate of 99% or more.

Due to the unique colorless nature of the ZnO crystalline composite antibacterial agent, the color of the substrate is not changed when it is added to the substrate, so it can be made into a transparent PC, PE antibacterial material. In addition, due to the multi-functional nature of the ZnO crystalline state, the plastic packaging material added with the ZnO crystalline composite antibacterial agent also has the characteristics of high strength and good freshness preservation. In addition to plastic packaging, it can also be applied to the surface of paper packaging and metal packaging. The availability of such antibacterial packaging materials has aroused strong market response, and many packaging material manufacturers have expressed their positive desire for cooperation. At present, this product has been put into production at Chengdu Jiaoda Jingyu Technology Co., Ltd. and has applied for a national invention patent.
