With the rapid development of computer technology and the substantial increase in its cost-effectiveness, computers are playing an increasingly important role in various fields. Nowadays, the powerful and wide-ranging functions of computers are beyond the imagination of the people at the time. The facts have fully proved that electronic computers are not only "the most promising tool since the invention of electricity." And it has developed into a powerful assistant for people to engage in creative activities.
Professor Yang Zhenning, a world-famous physicist, once told us that computer technology is one of the three locomotives that will drive future industrial development. Illiteracy in the 21st century will be computer blind. The packaging engineering profession must cultivate scientific and technological talents who can adapt to the development of the packaging industry in the 21st century, have the ability to innovate, practice, and acquire new knowledge, and must strengthen computer teaching. The students can not only master the use of some common software, but also have the preliminary ability to develop application software.
In 1985, the packaging engineering major of our school recruited the first batch of undergraduate students across the country. Starting from the packaging level 86, the “Packaging CAD” course has been set up among students with skillful writing, and corresponding textbooks have been written. The following talks about computer teaching in terms of their teaching practice.

1 Strengthen computer teaching must pay attention to the foundation of computer technology

With the in-depth popularization of computer technology, a series of application software such as CAD and CAPP have been continuously developed. Currently, AutoCAD, Fireworks and other application softwares launched on the market are powerful and play an important role in the design of packaging structure, packaging and decoration, and packaging styling. The packaging engineering profession must create high-quality packaging technology talents, and students should be able to master computer teaching. Some operating system knowledge and the use of certain common software are required, but this alone is not enough. In order to cultivate their innovative capabilities, they also need to learn the basics necessary to develop specialized software. This includes knowledge of one or two programming languages, numerical calculations, data structures, graphics, and image processing.

2 Strengthen computer teaching must pay attention to teaching methods

In order to cooperate with the students' innovation, practice and self-learning ability, when teaching computer courses, different teaching methods should be adopted according to the different characteristics of the teaching content; in order to achieve the best teaching effect.
2.1 When teaching basic theory must be linked theoretically to practical teaching of computer basic theory, if the theory is out of practice, students will feel empty, boring, and unable to lift the spirit. To avoid this situation, we must apply examples to tell the theory. To make students feel useful in their studies, they will learn to have confidence; they will be able to understand and remember.
For example, when describing parallel rotation of a three-dimensional coordinate axis, the action of closing (opening) the carton can be viewed as the result of rotation of the lid and the two dust cover sub-caps respectively along parallel axes of different coordinate axes. As shown. When creating an animation that closes (opens) the cassette, the position of the intermediate screen and the final screen of each cover sheet can be obtained separately by using the parallel axis rotation transformation around the coordinate axes.


When introducing a least-squares fit curve, the relevant contents of the package test can be combined. For example, when some data points on the maximum acceleration-static stress curve of a buffer material have been measured, the least squares method can be used to fit the curve. as shown in picture 2.
2.2 Strengthening Practical Teaching Links The strengthening of practical teaching in computer teaching is a step that can not be ignored in improving teaching effectiveness. It is of great significance to the cultivation of students' practical ability and self-learning ability. It includes hands-on experiments and curriculum design.
For theoretically strong basic content, in addition to doing a good job of theoretical teaching, it is necessary to arrange for experiments on the machine. In order to improve the effectiveness of the experiment, students are required to carefully write the program before boarding. After writing on the computer, an experiment report must be written so that students can clarify the purpose of the experiment, build a teaching model, and master the method of writing and debugging the program.
The design of the courses arranged after the packaging CAD course can be considered as a larger programming job and the time is one week. Students are required to master the processing methods of two-dimensional, especially three-dimensional graphics, such as the development of cartons, the design of cartons, the blanking of stereograms, and the three-view design of special boxes. As long as the organization is meticulous, the expected requirements can generally be met.
When introducing general-purpose software such as computer programming languages ​​and AutoCAD, for those that are easy to understand and theoretically non-strong, it is possible to adopt a less-speaking or non-speaking approach so that students can learn through self-study and hands-on practice. Doing so can overcome the shortcomings of "knowing, seeing, and forgetting once and for all", and can also improve their practical ability and self-learning ability to acquire new knowledge.
