Heidelberg introduces CTP platesetters for small and medium-sized printing plants

On September 20, 2006, Heidelberg announced the launch of two CTP platesetters developed for small and medium-sized printing companies: Suprasetter A52 and A74. Both entry-level products have the same plate-making quality as high-end products. Both devices are expected to be available in January 2007, and its debut was selected at the GraphExpo Fair in Chicago, United States, in October 2006.

The two newly introduced platesetters use the same laser technology as Heidelberg's high-end Suprasetter platesetter, so users do not have to worry about the platemaking quality of their platesetters, especially when using Heidelberg's high resolution Prinect. AM/FM screening technology and hybrid network technology. This laser imaging technology was developed by Heidelberg and was first introduced at the Drupa 2004 exhibition. At the same time, the new device adopts the Intelligent Diode System (IDS), so its production is very reliable, and if used in conjunction with Heidelberg's consumables, the effect is better.

Among the entire Suprasetter family, the Suprasetter A52/A74 is the most compact product, thanks to the automation concept of the Suprasetter A52/A74. If ATL (Auto Top Loader) is automatically added to the basic model, the standard version can also be fully automated, including loading and removing liners. ATL automatic version of the system version of the box can store 50 to 100 copies, the specific number depends on the thickness of the media. By replacing the different cartridges, the size of the exposure plate can be changed, and the liners are automatically collected into a pocket for disposal or recycling.

In order to further reduce the user's investment costs, Heidelberg has also developed entry-level workflow software products for the Suprasetter A52 - Prinect meta Dimension 52i and Prinect Imposition Editor. These two types of software mainly provide basic RIP, group edition, and fold functions. Can handle PS and PDF files. Through the PDF format, the processed file can achieve WYSIWYG effect previews and changes. Users can also add new functional modules according to their needs, such as proofing, trapping, and so on. If you need more features, Heidelberg recommends that users choose the latest generation of Prinect meta Dimension and Prinect Signa Station. In theory, the entry-level Suprasetter equipment can also be fully integrated into the Prinect workflow in Heidelberg.

Heidelberg's two entry-level products are available in variable plate sizes ranging from 240x240mm to 670x750mm, and can use either the traditional CTP plate or the heat-dispensed plate.
